pots made in kaaawa, hawaii
Each month, Icky Love Art Loft & Gallery features a new artist working in Hawai‘i. All artwork displayed in the gallery will be available for purchase. If you would like a virtual tour or private appointment, please contact us.
Illustrator, Ewa Mosc
Ewa Mosc is visual artist based in Honolulu. Originally from Warsaw, Poland, she has lived in Paris, Marseilles, and New York, and now calls Hawai‘i home. Her work draws on a lifelong habit of quiet observation—shaped by years spent between cultures—and is rooted in a deep appreciation for the spirit of places. Inspired by travel journals and old-world botanical studies, she creates detailed ink and watercolor illustrations that explore the intersection of nature, architecture, and the atmosphere of fleeting moments.
Ewa’s exhibit, “Permanent Visitor” at Icky Love is her first solo show, which will be on display for the entire month of July. Come view the work during opening hours and join us for the artist reception on July 12th from 11am-2pm.
Permanent Visitor
About this exhibit, in Ewa’s words:
As a lifelong expat and wanderer, I’ve grown accustomed to looking at the world with an outsider’s gaze. Living in Hawai‘i, my work is a loving documentation of everyday life here—not through the foreign lens of a visitor, but not entirely as a local either.
My illustrations echo the spirit of travel journals and old-world botanical plates. I draw with the eye of a traveler—except my work is less about a quick capture and more about a meditative, careful celebration of my subjects. Since I live here, I'm not in a rush. I came to Hawai‘i seeking a life more connected to nature—now, capturing its beauty brings me a deep sense of peace.
Over time, I am building a body of work at the intersection of travel guide, memory box, and curiosity cabinet—a collection of natural wonders, captured moments, and places that are hidden gems. A kind of personal map of wonder, made with ink and watercolor.
“I draw with the eye of a traveler—except my work is less about a quick capture and more about a meditative, careful celebration of my subjects. ”
