MEET FEBRUARY’S FEATURED ARTIST, ANN DAVIS

BODIES OF EVIDENCE

Join us for the art opening of Ann Davis’s gut-wrenching collection at Icky Love Art Loft & Gallery on February 8, 2025 from 11am-1pm to talk about the meaning of “Bodies of Evidence” and how this collection is, for her, both personal and political.

Content Warning: This show might have facts and figures that make some people feel vulnerable and/or uncomfortable, especially those who have experienced gender violence, rape, sexual harassment, and domestic violence.

About the artist:

Ann Davis is a Kailua-based visual artist and emerging abstract painter whose work explores the intersection of emotion, embodiment, and creative expression. Drawing on her extensive background as a trauma-trained expressive arts and somatic experiencing practitioner, Ann’s art delves into the ways that our body holds stories, fostering connections between inner experiences and outward expression.

Her paintings are deeply informed by her passion for using art as a vehicle for healing and transformation. Ann has dedicated her career to working with youth and families navigating chronic stress and trauma, using the arts as a means to foster new understandings of self and others.  In her studio practice she channels these insights into abstract compositions that evoke movement, energy and the layered textures of the human experience. Through her vibrant and intuitive approach, Ann seeks to inspire viewers to connect with their own stories and to discover the transformative power of creative expression.

“I see you. I am you. We are the evidence. Shame is not welcome here. We are the healers of our broken world.”
— Ann Davis
